How to Post a Carousel on LinkedIn

LinkedIn publishes an organic carousel through its document option. Prepare one ordered PDF, upload it from the post composer, give the document a useful title, add your post copy, and inspect the preview before publishing.

Posting a carousel on LinkedIn starts with a final, ordered file. LinkedIn lets you edit the description later, but not the document inside a published post.

Export one PDF

In Carouslide, choose PDF from the Download menu. The 4–6 edited slides are packaged as one multi-page document in slide order.

Check every page

Read at phone size, confirm the cover and final page, check spelling, and make sure no content sits too close to an edge.

Prepare two pieces of copy

LinkedIn asks for a document title and a post description. Give each a separate job instead of repeating the cover word for word.

How to upload a carousel on LinkedIn

    Open the LinkedIn post composer

    On desktop, select Start a post. On mobile, tap Post. Choose More to reveal the document option.

    Select Add a document on desktop or Document on mobile, then choose one file from your device or an available cloud service.

Use a predictable document, then trust the preview

LinkedIn supports several document formats and recommends PDF when possible. Its current limits are generous, but they are maximums—not a reason to make the sequence longer.

LinkedIn’s current checks

  • Supported in the upload guide: PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC, and DOCX.
  • Maximum document size: 100 MB.
  • Maximum document length: 300 pages.
  • Multi-layer PDFs should be flattened or merged.
  • Pages with different sizes should be fit to one consistent size.

Title and post copy

Give the document and the feed post different jobs

Document title: identify it

Use a short, descriptive title that still makes sense when the document is downloaded or viewed outside the surrounding post.

Post opening: frame it

Explain why the topic matters now, who it helps, or what prompted the lesson. Do not spend the opening summarizing every slide.

Final line: invite a response

Ask a relevant question or state a concrete next step only when it adds to the idea. The carousel should remain useful without engagement bait.

Common issues

If the upload or preview looks wrong

The pages are out of order

Return to the source deck, confirm the sequence, and export a fresh PDF. Do not publish and hope to replace the document later.

Text looks too small

Judge the actual LinkedIn preview at phone size. Shorten the copy or strengthen the type hierarchy before re-exporting.

The file will not upload

Check format, size, page count, title, and whether every PDF page uses the same dimensions.

The PDF renders differently

Complex layers can cause preview problems. LinkedIn advises flattening or merging multi-layer PDFs before upload.
